[Angeal and Cloud have the third floor to themselves, a nice retreat when needed, but lately it has felt too close to the others, in a way Angeal feels like he is intruding.
Hearing footsteps behind him on the stair, not sure what to make of it, Angeal pauses at the landing, looking over his shoulder with a face schooled to neutral, but questioning all the same.]
[Damn, he should of been more careful. This was not the way he had wanted to break the news to the other.]
...It's for the best. [It takes a long moment for Angeal to come up with those words, an answer that was almost a brush off in how blunt it was as he looks away. They don't need him here messing things up for them, meddling where he did not belong.]
[It's taking all of Genesis' self-control to not burst out at the other man. His voice is stern. But he's feeling it-- it's one thing to feel upset at his friend, but it's not to that extent that he wants to not see him anymore.]
[Always, and no matter what in the end, Angeal tries not to hurt his best friend. Genesis has always been that, though thick and though thin, and Angeal wants that to never change. He turns to face the other.]
I was wrong, Genesis. That is the start and finish of it. [But, at the same time, he didn't want to leave. His friends were his friends.] It won't happen again, and I won't leave if you do not want me to. I just ask that you'll be able to forgive me, when you can.
[Before, when he had first arrived, he had asked for forgiveness for something he could not control. Now, he was asking for it for his lack of control, a momentary lapse in judgement with consequences that had affected all of them.]
Of course I'll forgive you. You deserve that peace of mind. You did nothing wrong by just... answering whatever we needed. [Gentleness for Seph, sex for Gen. Genesis sighs, reaching to hold his friend's wrist.]
Angeal... if you leave, I don't believe any of us will feel like this home will be at peace. Truth be told, you're what holds everything together. Seph and I can do cooking and chores well enough, but there's something you bring to the house that really... makes everything feel whole.
You are the heart of this house, Angeal. And besides that... I'm certain Sephiroth and Cloud would hate me if they knew that our conversation had lead to this. I'd hate myself, too.
[Angeal is quiet when the other speaks, his eyes sliding downward, at their interlocked hands, and the man turns his in Genesis' and lets his fingers light over skin.]
This isn't your fault, I promise. [There isn't anything to blame Genesis for, not that he ever does.] I'll stay, Gen, I didn't want to leavein the first place.
[He smiles now, something he hasn't done in the last week or so, and squeezes Genesis' hand before pulling it away, reaching up to ruffle his hair instead.]
[Gen's instinct is the pout at the ruffling, but instead, he welcomes it, moving forward so he could hug his best friend the way he had always done since they were kids.]

Angeal... [He gathers up the papers to take upstairs, following his friend.]

Are you looking to move out?
[Genesis makes it clear that he's more of distressed than angry.]
